DLA Piper advises Sponsor Capital in its contemplated sale of Myllyn Paras
We have advised one of the leading Finnish Private Equity investors Sponsor Capital as the majority owner in its contemplated cross-border sale of the Finnish food company Myllyn Paras to the agricultural cooperative Lantmännen.
Myllyn Paras (est. 1928) is one of the most renowned food brands in Finland. The group's turnover is approximately MEUR60 and it employs approximately 110 people. Myllyn Paras manufactures, markets and distributes flour, flakes, grains and pasta as well as frozen dough and bakery products, also for international export. Lantmännen is an agricultural cooperative and Northern Europe’s leader in agriculture, machinery, bioenergy and food products. Lantmännen is owned by 19,000 Swedish farmers and has 10,000 employees in over 20 countries.
The completion of the transaction is subject to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s approval.
