On 11 June, we held an update webinar of what is happening in the employment law landscape in the Nordics. Finland discussed about guidelines regarding employer’s re-employment obligations in connection with redundancies and salary raises.

In Sweden, the labour parties have reached an agreement on salary raises after the toughest salary negotiations in many years, and as in many other countries there has been an increase in redundancy terminations, which brings more focus to the new adjustment, retraining and skill support system that was introduced in October last year. In Denmark, a new legislation on employment contracts and transparent and predictable working conditions will come in force on 1 July 2023. Norway has recently implemented restricted opportunities for employers to hire personnel from temporary work agencies and banned the use of temporary agency workers in the construction sector in Oslo and the surrounding municipalities of Viken and Vestfold. New legislation that extends employers’ responsibility within group companies will also come into effect on 1 January 2024.

Our legal advisors covered this and more in the Nordic Employment Law Update webinar. In case you missed it, you can download the presentation material from the PDF link below.
