DLA Piper tops Mergermarket 2021 M&A league tables

Mergermarket has published annual statistics on legal advisors on M&A transactions. In Finland, during the sixth year of operations, DLA Piper continued strong performance in the market and was ranked #3 legal advisor by deal count in 2021 with 37 deals, and #4 legal advisor by deal value, with the total value of transactions at close to USD10 billion.

For the fifth consecutive year, DLA Piper earned the top legal advisor ranking in the Nordics for overall M&A deal volume, according to Mergermarket 2021 league tables. The firm was involved in 274 deals in the Nordics in 2021, valued at close to USD33 billion

Our M&A work highlights in Finland included advising Sponsor Capital in its contemplated sale of Myllyn Paras (subject to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s approval), advising MB Funds on investment in Pyroll Packaging and advising Aristocrat Digital and Plarium Global on the acquisition of mobile gaming studio Futureplay.

Globally, DLA Piper achieved the number one ranking for overall deal volume for the 12th consecutive year in 2021, and in Europe, for the ninth consecutive year. In addition to Finland, DLA Piper remains the highest ranked international law firm also in Denmark (#1) and in Sweden (#1).
