DLA Piper promotes three lawyers to partner in Finland

DLA Piper announces the promotion of three lawyers to partner in Helsinki, Finland, effective 1 January 2021. The new partners are Kristiina Hirva and Mikko Luukkonen in the firm’s Finance & Projects (F&P) practice and Antti Paloniemi in the firm’s Tax practice.

Kristiina Hirva and Mikko Luukkonen will serve as co-Heads of Finance and Projects in Helsinki, succeeding Hans Sundblad who will continue as partner in the F&P and chairman of the board of DLA Piper Finland. 

Together with their team, Kristiina and Mikko advise clients on all aspects of finance law including transactional matters and a wide range of financing arrangements. Kristiina joined the firm over 13 years ago and her practice has a particular emphasis on financial regulatory and compliance advisory relating to for example anti-money laundering compliance and cross-border offering of financial services and products. Mikko joined DLA Piper in 2017 and has significant experience advising domestic and international clients on a wide range of financing arrangements and corporate transactions with a particular focus on acquisition financing and ECA (Export Credit Agency) supported export credit financing as well as on real estate financing.  

Antti Paloniemi joined the firm in August 2020 as counsel and his practice focuses on M&A taxation and domestic and international corporate income taxation. He has significant experience in structuring assignments, real estate transactions and W&I projects, and he assists clients also in tax audits and advance ruling processes.
