LocalTapiola General Mutual Insurance Group's products and services cover non-life, life and pension insurance, investment and saving services as well as corporate risk management and welfare in the workplace. LocalTapiola started its strategic digitalization project, which is the largest digitalization project in Finland, a few years ago.

DLA Piper’s Helsinki Strategic Sourcing and Technology Transactions team led by partner Sami Rintala has advised LocalTapiola in negotiations on outsourcing of strategic IT services to CGI. The value of the agreement signed in October 2019 is EUR 40 million, with the agreement covering the core systems and all support systems of LocalTapiola.

“Sami Rintala and his team provided an excellent service throughout the negotiations bringing deep experience and market knowledge, taking into account the regulatory impacts of outsourcing in the financial sector. Their advice invariably focuses upon helping us pragmatically solve problems, be the problems broadly commercial, or narrowly legal, in nature.” says Janne Kärkkäinen, Head of ICT-Finance & Sourcing at LocalTapiola.
