DLA Piper has advised Bladefence Ltd, a company which provides blade inspection, maintenance, and repair services for wind turbines, on a growth investment from EAB Private Equity, a part of Evli Group.

Bladefence was founded in 2011 with a mission to provide high quality blade service and cost-effective long-term solutions to customers. The company employs over 150 industry experts and offers services throughout Europe and North America.

Bladefence has been developing ways to serve the industry for over 10 years and EAB Private Equity’s investment allows the company to diversify its offering to match the growing customer demand. Its key competitive advantage is its own fleet of equipment and experienced staff, which enables efficient maintenance processes and rapid responses for expansive wind farms. The company is aiming for strong growth in North America.

After the investment EAB Private Equity becomes a significant minority owner of Bladefence. The founders of Bladefence, Janneniska Oy and the key personnel, will remain owners of the company.

The DLA Piper advisory team comprised Jonathan Andersin and Ilkka Liljeroos.
